Important things to consider:
- This is not an attorney-assisted service nor legal advice is provided. We only prepare Chapter 7 bankruptcy documents for consumers representing themselves in court proceedings (in pro per). If you need legal advice, we have an extensive attorney referral system. We are not allowed to explain anything to you about Bankruptcy laws so when you come to us, either you would have consulted a lawyer and/or have researched your options and have made a decision as to what course of action to take. We prepare your documents according to your specific direction only.
- We comply with the provisions of Title 11 Section 110 of the United States Code.
- Our fee to prepare a Chapter 7 bankruptcy is $199, per statute (Central California).
- The court filing fee, which you pay directly to the US Bankruptcy Court, not us, for a Chapter 7 bankruptcy is $299 ($245 case filing fee; $39 misc. administrative fee; $15 trustee surcharge).
- The new Bankruptcy Code requires two mandatory credit counseling education classes (pre-petition bankruptcy counseling & pre-discharge debtor education). The Department of Justice has a list of approved credit counseling agencies.
- Cash payment of $199 is required on your first appointment should you decide to hire us for our services.
Consequently, we will need the following from you:
- Pay stubs/ all sources of income for the last 6 months.
- Income tax returns the last 2 years.
- All statements, including utility bills, subscriptions, credit collectors, student loans, mortgage loans, insurance, taxes, lease agreements, etc.
- Copy of your recent credit report. www.annualcreditreport.com provides free credit report for each of the credit reporting agencies, if you haven't ordered yours in the last 12 months.
- All bills and all monies and gifts that you have paid and/or received the last 3 months.
- Copy of Driver’s License and Social Security Card for all debtor(s).
Please provide us with complete and accurate information on your first meeting so that we can deliver your documents within 5 business days.
REMEMBER, YOU ARE REPRESENTING YOURSELF.
YOU FILE THE DOCUMENTS IN COURT.
YOU ATTEND THE CREDITORS MEETING WITHOUT AN ATTORNEY.
(Even with an attorney, you attend the creditors' meeting, too.)
